Por la mañana escucho en la radio a un tertuliano afirmar que España ha sido una lucha de abeles y caínes donde, al final, han terminado ganando más los abeles que los caínes. Con la primera afirmación estoy de acuerdo, con la segunda no.

Al mediodía leo en el periódico que el Gobierno agradece que el rey Juan Carlos, a quien –parafraseando al maestro Alcántara- Dios guarde muchos años: hasta que nos merezcamos ser republicanos, intente mediar para un “Pacto de Estado”. Pero también le dice el Gobierno al Rey que eso es responsabilidad suya. Y el Partido Popular, por su parte, pone tantas condiciones para el pacto que parece que no quiere o no le interesa ese pacto.

Es entonces cuando me viene a la mente –después de la serie que acaban de poner en televisión- la figura de Suárez y sus Pactos de La Moncloa.

Por la tarde voy a ver la película de uno de mis directores preferidos –Clint Eastwood- que recrea un episodio trascendental de la vida de Mandela, de Sudáfrica y del rugby sudafricano; un rugby que, dicho sea de paso, se alarga a veces demasiado en secuencias a cámara lenta.

El caso es que si, en otra ocasión, y desde esta misma tribuna, he visto mal que el Rey tomara partido en un Referéndum sobre la Unión Europea; ahora si veo con buenos ojos que asome la patita, sólo la patita, para que un nuevo Suárez, o un nuevo Mandela, sea capaz de superar nuestra atávica historia de nunca acabar de abeles y caínes.

Hace falta. Hace mucha falta que nuestra clase política se limpie las pinturas de guerra miopes y se siente para ver más allá, para ver lo que debería ser al menos un boceto de un mínimo común denominador de nuestro modelo educativo y, por extensión, de nuestro modelo productivo.

    Pasa igual que en los divorcios, os podeis separar como pareja, pero no teneis por que hacerlo como padres.
    Creo que hay intereses y necesidades comunes mucho mas importantes y en las que no se puede o no cabe una perspectiva de incordialidad, porque en definitiva si lo que hay es que cuidar el jardín y nos peleamos por ver quien es el jardinero jefe….pues como los elefantes cuando se pelean, la que sufre es la hierba.Así que aplaudo al Rey.
